Be Thankful

Enter into His Gates with thanksgiving, and into his courts with praise. Be thankful unto Him and bless His name.
— Psalms 100:4

Each and every one of us has a reason to be thankful.  We should prepare our hearts to be thankful each and every morning.  A thankful heart will allow us to face the day in a different manner, and with a different attitude.  If for no other reason, having Jesus as your Savior is a reason to be thankful.

If we can remember what God has done for us, and have a confidence in what He has done for us, it will create in us a thankful heart, and others will see it.  Being thankful is an intentional act. Don’t let your circumstances determine whether you are thankful.

If you are truly thankful, you will share your testimony with others.  Others will see that no matter what we face, it is always easier with Jesus.

Being thankful will cause us to draw closer to God, while being unthankful will keep us from enjoying a full relationship with Christ.

Because that, when they knew God, they glorified Him not as God, neither were thankful: but became vain in their imaginations, and their foolish heart was darkened.
— Romans 1:21

We may know who God is, but unless we accept Him as our Savior and Lord, we cannot be truly thankful.  Our imaginations will become vain.  Our thoughts will become selfish and self-centric.  When we start thinking self-gratifying thoughts, our hearts begin to darken.  When our hearts darken, we contradict the purpose for which we were created.

When you wake up in the morning, don’t focus on what you don’t have--thank God for what you do have.

Do you have a reason to be thankful?
