Let Christ Speak to Your Problems

And again He entered into Capernaum after some days: and it was noised that He was in the house. And straightway many were gathered together, insomuch there was no room to receive them, no, not so much about the door: and He preached the word unto them. And they come into Him, bringing one sick of the palsy, which was borne of four. And they could not come nigh unto Him for the press, they uncovered the roof where he was: and when they had broken it up, they let down the bed wherein the sick of the palsy lay. When Jesus saw their faith, he said unto the sick of the palsy, Son , thy sins be forgiven thee.
— Mark 2:1-5

In this passage, the house was full of people, but the four men knew that if they could get their friend to Jesus, he would be healed. They didn’t understand that the palsy was healed and defeated the moment they put their faith in Jesus.  Our burdens have been defeated by the blood of Jesus Christ, but we often forget about, or get distracted from, the victory that's ours to claim. We let our pride and foolishness hold us back, though we know the reality of the victory we have through Christ.

Here, four men stood in the gap for their friend.  We have the same opportunity.  We are priests of Christ.  We are carriers of the Arc (Jesus).  We have the authority to take the “palsy” to the King, and to let Christ speak to our problems.  And although provision has been made for our delivery, we often fail to claim it.  We have the opportunity to be priests in every situation, and the power to allow Christ to reign, but our pride keeps us from an inheritance that is rightly ours in Christ.

When you're a priest for Christ, people are affected.  When you bear one another's burdens, and allow Christ to speak to your problems, people notice, and experience the love of Christ.

Do you ever think that Jesus can’t understand your situation, or that you are unworthy of Jesus’ attention? Jesus is not surprised by your circumstances. He understands, and wants to help.

Have you brought your “palsy” to Jesus?
